What does one say about the ubiquitous Robin Perry? He was a multi-talented personality with enormous energy and unquenchable thirst for life.
Author of eight books, including Creative Color Photography and Photography for the Professionals, Robin Perry also published well over 200 articles, was an internationally known photographic illustrator whose photographs have graced the pages of most major national magazines. He was a teacher of the philosophy of photography and traveled the world lecturing.
Exhibitions of his photography have been held in major countries of the world and was honored by the Royal Photographic Society, the British Institute, the Professional Photographers of America, the Professional Photographers of Canada and more than 100 other photographic associations and societies.
Robin was a veteran officer of both the U.S. Army and Navy; graduate of the US Army Command & General Staff College. As a naval officer during WWII he flew torpedo bombers (TBFs). Robin requested to learn aerial reconnaissance and was transferred to work under Edward Steichen towards the end of the war.
He was a commercial pilot and a holder of patents on pilot’s navigational computers and plotters. In his 80’s he still had his instructor’s rating and was still flying. In the mid 1950s he was involved with the civilian air patrol and had his own TV talk show in Connecticut.
He lived most of his life in Waterford, Connecticut, where he conducted his popular Creative Color Workshop. He had been married 6 times.
Robin died in Indialantic FL at the age of 87.
