Pubblico Attento
My cousin Daniela suggested we visit a one of her fellow chorister’s home she thought I’d be interested in photographing. The home is actually Villa Brugnera in the town of Pordenone. Not only is it a private home but also the seat of the Accademia Musicale Pordenone. A wonderful facility for musically talented young people to practice and perform.
Villa Brugnera, built in the 17th century, remains a private home, maintained beautifully but allowing students to take classes, practice and perform in various rooms, including the extensive gardens.
Walking into any of the practice rooms, you could be presented with historic paintings, furniture and knick knacks or a random mannequin for an audience.
Beyond the arched gateway leaving the villa proper, the lush and inviting gardens encompass the banks of Lago della Burida. Walking around I felt a sense that the fairies were cautiously watching me from the cascading willow branches or from under the toad stool.
Enchanted by the classical music wafting through the villa and manicured grounds, I could see why this might be a land of the Faes…
