Passeggiata Garibaldi
One of my favorite walkways in Venezia is Viale Giuseppe Garibaldi. About a 200 meter arbored road surfaced in decomposed granite. A more comfortable surface than the hard stone every other street in Venezia is made of. It’s also a locals hangout who sit on one of the many benches to read their newspaper or watch their children ride tricycles.
Not many tourists visit this viale, so it’s a quiet respite for the masses. It’s lagoon entry is near the Giradinie della Biennale and the other ends at the Monumento a Giuseppe Garibaldi. A bronze monument with a water basin containing carp and abandoned turtles…
