Palazzina Canonica
The neo-Renaissance palazzo was built by sculptor and composer Pietro Canonica in 1911. It was confiscated by the fascist regime and the interiors were altered significantly from Signore Canonica’s vision.
Signore Canonica donated the palazzo to the Historical Library of Adriatic Studies of the Institute of Marine Sciences. It has not been open to the public till 2017 as part of exhibition Leviathan and in 2019 as the New Zealand Pavilion during the Biennale.
Of all the palazzi in Venezia I have visited, this is the one I would love to own and live in…
