Marmo di S. Marco
I was waiting in line with my daughter to get into San Marco Basilica. The excitement of the crown and vistas of Piazza San Marco are very distracting. Over the years I’ve learned to look at details and the attention given to them.
As the line moved toward the entry, I was looking at the alcoves that make up the exterior façade of San Marco Basilica. Looking closely I noticed the builders had used a variety of vein structured and colors of marbles. I was amazed at the detail in the use of marble that if you stand to see the whole façad you miss…
Is God in the details of San Marco Basilica?
