Cappella dei Pellegrini
S. Martino di Campagna is a small community between the family home in Maniago and my uncles and cousins home in Pordenone. Going through the town many times when I visit I wondered what I might find if I looked around.
Wandering off the main road through town and into the open fields beyond the town limits, I found this 16th century Oratorio di San Pellegrino at a “Y” in the dirt country road. Out among the farm fields it made me wonder why did they build it here? Being dedicated to San Pellegrino I wondered if this might be along a forgotten pilgrims trail.
A shelter from the elements and call for devotion along the way…
