I was making my way back to the boat launch on Torcello when I felt I was being watched. I turned to catch a fleeting glance of a dreamy eyed woman peeking around the column of an entry to a private garden.
Okay, I won’t go so far as saying I can catch the eye of a statue but she certainly caught mine.
This shy gaze – was it hers or a mirror of mine for her?
