The second floor loggia is the central room of a suite of four bedrooms. It is filled with dark furniture and even darker faced portraits. These portraits terrorized me when I was younger. I recall standing with my Father in front of those portraits being told who these relatives were and some story about their lives but I guess I was so frightened that I don’t remember a thing he told me about them!
The windows on the right, look out over the back yard and the outbuildings where the farm equipment was stored. Having been wakened by the earthly cacophony of wagon wheels grinding and popping on pavement, mixed with the whistles and barked directions given the horses pulling their burden, I would perch myself at these windows to watch the farm come to life.
